Conference membership is the club’s PRESENT affiliation, because this database keeps no history of it, so a table for an older season files a club under the conference it is in today. 5,876 fixtures carry a season label whose date falls outside it — real games from 1949, 1950, 1951, 2002 and 2003 filed under 2025-26 by one import — and every query in this section restricts a season to the twelve months its own label names, so those rows keep their data and stay out of this year’s table. They hold no player lines.
